E. J. Viso started driving go-karts in Venezuela at age seven. He captured numerous titles before moving to Europe to enhance his racing career. Viso quickly captured two British Formula 3 (B) championships, inciting a move up to GP2, where he again earned several race victories. In one season in the United States, he placed 18th overall in the 2008 IndyCar Series, and he also captured the Skip Barber Dodge Eastern Championship. Viso also served as an F1 test driver with Spyker.
