Sussex County Cricket Club

Formed in 1839 in the birthplace of cricket, the Sussex County Cricket Club has the distinction of being the oldest of the major cricket clubs in the United Kingdom. Despite their long history, the Sussex Sharks truly came into their own in 2003, when they won their first official County Championship and continued to dominate for the rest of the decade. The club’s “Golden Decade” includes championships in several events and tournaments, with 10 trophies in 10 years, and secured the legacy of Sussex CCC as the most successful first-class cricket team in the UK.
